The Rotary Club of Hendersonville, NC

Rotary International Projects Committee Action Plan

Purpose:     Seeks to discover the need for humanitarian programs in foreign countries and to obtain the funding necessary to implement them, and then supervises the implementation and funding of the projects.

Structure:

Potable water project in two towns in southeastern Honduras.  Detailed study and plan documentation was prepared by grad. Student from University of New Mexico and is now being updated by another Grad student on location in Honduras.  Project has additional  funding from other organizations and needs more financial help to execute and complete the project.

  Timing and Sequence :

Project could be started during this Rotary year and all that is needed from this club is to donate funds to complete project requirements.

Budget :

Total budget for this project is estimated at about $90,000 of which most is already pledged.  This club's contribution would be our current year budgeted amount of $5,000.

Reporting Requirements:

All supervision and reporting requirements would be met by the Club Rotario de Puerto Cortes with whom this club has had other successful projects.

Unique Requirements/Action Steps (Please be thorough and specific):

The only action required is to verify timing and accuracy of funding before donating this club's share.  This would be done by contacting the Puerto Cortes contact who is responsible for all projects.  Ken Robinson is in constant contact with subject Rotarian in Puerto Cortes.
