The Rotary Club of Hendersonville is proud to announce the 2008 grant application period is now open. Teachers are encouraged to apply for funds for their unique and innovative projects that can make a difference in the learning of their students.

Improving education for the students in Henderson County is the primary focus of the funding efforts of the Hendersonville Rotary Club. The Club wishes to make significant contributions to the education of our young people by assisting teachers in implementing innovative teaching practices.

Grants will be awarded to teachers in May 2008 using the following criteria:

  • The project builds on past successful grant projects
  • The project is replicable at other schools in the county
  • The project includes the children's parents
  • The project prepares students for opportunities of tomorrow
  • The project can become long lasting, even self-sustaining
  • The project focuses on an area not funded by traditional methods
  • The project can attract additional matching funds

Projects may be in any area of study such as science, math, reading, writing, language, economics, life skills, visual or musical arts and all grade levels.
